The little blue penguin, or kororā, has a particularly special connection with our coastline.
These tiny penguins returning to shore are a wonderful sight, especially here in Timaru, where visitors can experience them as part of our coastal wildlife.
I love the contrast between their small size and the vastness of the ocean around them.
Painting the kororā allows me to bring together the little penguin, the sea and the evening atmosphere of the coast in one colourful piece of silk.
