My work begins with research, observation and imagination.
I explore the shapes, colours and stories of New Zealand’s natural world, then transform what I discover into fluid, colourful and expressive designs.
I pour my heart into every piece, allowing the beautiful transparency and softness of pure silk to bring the colours to life.

Its breathtaking landscapes, unique birds and beautiful flowers constantly give me new ideas. I love learning about our native flora and fauna, their stories, and the people who work so passionately to protect them.

My Creative Journey: from Concept to Silk
Every creation begins with an idea.
Sometimes it starts with a flower, a bird, a landscape or simply a colour combination that catches my imagination.
I then develop the idea into a design, carefully considering shapes, movement and colour.
Creating a silk scarf or silk artwork can take many hours of careful work. I draw the design, prepare the silk and paint using the Serti technique and specialist silk materials.
Then comes one of my favourite moments — fixing the colours and watching the final colours emerge.
It is always a little magical to see the finished artwork come alive.
My silk artworks are thoughtfully mounted to standard dimensions, making them easy to frame and enjoy at home. Each piece is also accompanied by information about its inspiration and care instructions.
