I am delighted to share the story behind my art, my love of silk, and the journey that brought me here.
Every piece I create carries a little of my story — my passion for art, my love of nature, and the inspiration I have found in my beautiful home, New Zealand.
My Artistic Journey Begins
My love of art began when I was a child. Alongside my regular schooling, I studied at an art school, where I discovered how deeply I loved creating.
Art has always been my first love — a passion that stayed with me throughout my life.
After university, I continued my studies and worked in my native country. Later, my husband and I made the life-changing decision to move to New Zealand and make this beautiful country our home.
Inspired by Nature's Embrace
Inspired by Nature’s Embrace
New Zealand slowly became a wonderful source of inspiration.
Travelling through its breathtaking landscapes, walking along beautiful beaches, and discovering its extraordinary flowers and birds, I found myself captivated by the colours, shapes and little details everywhere around me.
Nature awakened my creativity again.
What I saw around me began finding its way onto my canvas — and eventually onto silk.
Finding Art in a New Land
Moving to New Zealand was much more than changing countries. It was a completely new chapter of life, filled with excitement, challenges and discovery.
Through the experiences of building a new life, I found my way back to something that had always lived inside me — the need to create.
Art became a place where I could express myself, find inspiration and simply be present in the moment.
A Journey of Creation and Healing
During a particularly challenging time in my life, including concerns surrounding my husband’s health, painting became a source of peace and comfort.
I began creating large abstract paintings, allowing colours, shapes and emotions to flow freely.
Painting gradually became part of my everyday life.
“I began to paint everything I saw, especially after walking on the beach and discovering interesting shapes in shells.”The beach became a wonderful teacher — showing me that inspiration can be found in the smallest things.
Discovering My Passion for Silk
Then I discovered silk.
I was immediately fascinated by its softness, transparency and incredible ability to transform with colour.
To me, silk is the queen of textiles.
Painting on silk opened a completely new creative world. I loved watching the colours flow and blend, and I was especially captivated by the way light could pass through the painted fabric.
When sunlight touches a painted piece of silk, something magical happens.
The colours seem to come alive.
That moment marked the beginning of my journey with silk painting — a journey that continues to inspire me every day.
Today, through GC-ArtEscape, I share that passion with you, creating hand-painted pieces inspired by the beauty, colours and spirit of New Zealand.
