The coastline inspired me to explore the changing colours, textures and peaceful atmosphere of New Zealand’s shores.

I brought together the New Zealand coastline, shimmering pāua colours and the shape of Aotearoa in a celebration of our connection with the sea.
New Zealand shores show the creativity at its finest in stunning rocks, witnesses to the perpetual thumping of the waves, storms and raging winds.
The vibrant colours and textures uncovered at low tide is included in every painted stone telling a story of natural artistry and boasts a fascinating geological history shaped by ancient forces, from Tectonic movements, and the influence of the Alpine Fault, to the erosion and sedimentation by the Southern Ocean continuously reshape the beach from sand to stone.
It is the best way to discover nature’s hidden gems in a note of mystery under the blue sky.
